This weekend has been a lovely weekend when the weather is concerned. The Sun is shining and it actually feels like summer is coming! YAY! I love the Summer. So I decided to sit outside and bask in all its wonderful glory. Yes that's right I sunned myself! And although I'm a little pink right now it's ok as I've made a start to my little Happy Book...Read More
We all know 2016 hasn't been the best year for many, Including myself. It's been a really tough year for me and my family as we've had 3 losses, one of those being my rock, the person that I loved the most in my life, my nan! People who know me will know how much I loved her and how much I miss her. Christmas in particular has been hard and I just wanted to say a very big thank you to my friends and family who have supported me when I've needed it. I love you all!!Read More
Continuing on from the Wedding Invites, also included in the Package was a Hen do Invitation. The Bride to be's Sister asked for me to make an invite for the Bride, as the hen do was a secret. So I made this to match the Invites and the rest of the Wedding stationery.Read More
Along with the Wedding Invitations, I was asked to create some Evening wedding Invitations too. These were going to look bit like the Save the Dates but double sided, as there was too much information to put onto one side. This was the CAD visual I sent over, the one on the right is the front of the card, and the one on the left is the back of the card...Read More
So in my last blog post I mentioned that I'd been designing some Save the Dates for a client. Well this post is about the wedding Invite itself. I absolutely love these invites and I think they sum up the clients perfectly. The brief was to design something sparkly and elegant. The bride sent over a few ideas of the sort of thing she liked and we pretty much went from there. First of all I came up with some CADs and sent these over, We went back and forth a few times to make some changes. These were the final designs selected...Read More
I've been fortunate enough to work on some gorgeous wedding invitations for a lovely couple. This project was ongoing for quite a while as the design process took a little longer than expected. I then had to hand make each and every single invite.
The couple wanted 'Save the Dates', the actual Wedding Invite, Evening Reception Invites, a Table Plan and Order of Services. So it was quite a big job.
I started off by creating the Save the Dates, here's what I sent over to the happy couple...Read More
So it's been a while since I last posted a blog post, sorry! I've been crazy busy, I'm back working in the design industry again for a large business designing wrapping paper and gift bags etc as well as running The Blue Martin Studio.
This business is called International Greetings. They supply the market with gift wrap, gift bags, crackers and other stationery products. It's pretty awesome there to be honest! So I'm putting my time into that at the moment. There's a lot to learn and I want to get my head around it all. I feel really lucky to be working with some amazing creative people. The guys really are awesome!
Anyways, I thought I'd just give you a little update on what's going on over here!
Im going to posting some things up of my latest project soon, so keep checking back,
A lot of change has happened in 2015 for me, I found it a hard year as I'm not that great dealing with a lot of change, but I got through it and I've realised a lot about myself. I now know that if I really want something, I will get it as I have found a determination within myself. I was so unhappy at the start of the year due to my job, which is why I went freelance. I just couldn't handle the way I felt, so change was needed. Which lead me onto creating my own work, which I loved. My happiness instantly grew back. Then laster in this year I started a new job as an experienced creative designer, and I feel so much happier in this job. I feel like I belong more. So I've come to realise that change is good for me. I need it. Im thankful that I've realised this.Read More
So the last 2 days I've been sorting out/tidying up my studio. It was in much need of attention!! It's still not quite finished but it will do for now, well until I can be bothered starting it again. Ha!
So today I've opened up one of my christmas presents, which is an Intuos Pro tablet. My bamboo tablet is about 6 years old and when I started my new job I was introduced to the Intuos Pro. I really wanted one of my own so today I've cracked it open and got playing with it. I don't feel that I'm very good at doing characters but as I had some time today I wanted to try a Santa, hopefully the more I practise the better I will get. It's as they say, practise makes perfect (I hope in this case it does!).
So here is my creation...Read More

So lately I've been a pretty busy bee. I've not been able to work on my own branded designs as I've had a brief to design some wedding stationery for a client. This is taking up a lot of my time as I want to get it just right. Hopefully I will be able to show you the outcome of this in November or December time.
